How to colorize a black and white photo

Are the colors accurate?+
The colors are plausible and natural, not historically guaranteed — the AI predicts what colors are most likely (skin tones, sky, vegetation) and different runs may pick different shades. That's true of every AI colorizer Photos with extreme contrast and deep shadows (e.g. half a face in darkness) can come out with odd tones — this is a limitation shared by all AI colorizers.
Why is the first run slow?+
The ~100 MB AI model downloads once and is cached by your browser. After that, each colorization starts instantly and takes a few seconds to process.
