How to compress an image

Raster image editing, explained

JPG, PNG, and WebP are raster images — pictures made of a grid of pixels, each carrying its own color. Compressing, resizing, and cropping all work on that pixel grid, and that is what raster image editing means: the everyday kind of image work. This page does it entirely in your browser.
